About us

Kloof Methodist ChurchKloof Methodist Church began its life on Sunday 22 January 1911 when Kloof was a tiny village where people came for picnics and holidays. It has now grown into a beautiful dormitory suburb of Durban with about 22000 people. On 2011 our church would have been a witness for Christ in this community for 100 years. Over the years the needs and priorities of our church have changed. In this second decade of the 21st century our main emphasis is upon growing our ministry to younger families and becoming a church that is increasingly relevant to the needs of this community in which we live. Barely one out of ten people belong to a church. We need to make Christ relevant to them as well as to the needy communities in the valleys that surround us where we serve already. For this we are deeply aware of our need for the power of the Holy Spirit.
